Rabbit Hole Cast

(In Alphabetical Order)

Emily Faith (Izzy) - Emily recently graduated from Lipscomb University with a B.F.A  in Acting. She has been seen on Lipscomb's Main Stage in productions of The Pajama Game, Ragtime, and Hairspray, as well as second stage performances of Lysistrata, The Pupil, Dog Sees God, and is a former member of the improv troupe SELF IMPROVMENT. Emily is so proud of the talented cast and production team of Rabbit Hole and is thankful for the opportunity to share this story. 

Mike Fernandez (Howie) - Mike is excited to make his Circle Players’ debut.  He is Chair of the Department of Theatre at Lipscomb University where he has taught for the last 5 years.  Prior to Lipscomb, Mike was a professor at Abilene Christian University.  While Mike typically focuses on directing and playwriting, he is thrilled to take the stage as Howie in this production.  He gives thanks to his beautiful wife, Mindy, and to God, in whom all things are possible.

Beth Henderson (Becca) - Beth is beyond excited about participating in this amazing show with such an incredibly talented cast and crew! She thanks Whitney for giving her the chance to play the role of a lifetime. Other Nashville area theater credits include a Warhol Girl and Nixon’s secretary in All the King’s Women, Eleanor in The Desperate Hours, Ms. Jordan in Heaven Can Wait, Kate in Brighton Beach Memoirs, Elsa in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, and Dilber in A Christmas Carol.  

Jonah Jackson (Jason) - This is Jonah's third show at Lipscomb and his first with Circle Players. His previous roles include Florindo Aretusi in The Servant of Two Masters and Duke Orsino in Twelfth Night. He would like to thank his family and friends for all of their love and support, and the rest of the cast and crew for making this show such an amazing experience.

Wesley Paine (Nat) - Wesley has worked for various theater companies in the greater Nashville area over the past thirty years and she is a founding member of John Holleman and Co., a troupe that specializes in mask work. Favorite roles include Mrs. Malaprop in The Rivals (ACT I), Duchess of York in Richard III (Nashville Shakespeare Festival), Hecuba in Trojan Women (Actors Bridge), Ouisa in Six Degrees of Separation (ACT I), Mrs. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice (Belmont University), Claree in Steel Magnolias (Circle Players), Amanda in The Glass Menagerie (Murfreesboro Center for the Arts), Big Mama in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Tennessee Rep's REPaloud) and Dottie/Mrs. Clackett in Noises Off (Boiler Room Theater).

Whitney Vaughn (director) - Whitney is a graduate of Lipscomb University, with a degree in Law, Justice and Society.  Recent roles include: Tracy in Lipscomb's Hairspray (Best musical of 2011-First Night Honors) and Circle Players’ production of Hairspray (Best Show-Circle Awards); Gaelen in Legally Blonde (Keeton Theater); and Lucy in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Other awards include Most Promising Actor and Top 11 of '11 Actress in a Musical (First Night Honors), KCACTF Irene Ryan, Best Actress (Circle Awards). Whitney is also an award-winning playwright. She will next be on stage as Madame Thenardier in Lipscomb's production of Les Miserables in November. Whitney would like to thank both her families at Lipscomb and Circle for sharing her vision, and enabling her to tell this story. Special thanks to Erin Richardson, and to the actors who made her job so incredibly fun and easy.)

Erin Richardson (producer) - Erin is thrilled to be producing this show! Although Erin grew up dancing, singing and acting, she took a twenty-year hiatus after graduating from high school. She happily re-entered the wonderful world of theater six years ago when her son, Wesley, was in his first production at the age of nine (he played Ben Rogers in Tom Sawyer with Circle Players).Since then, there has been a flurry of theater activity in the Richardson household (Wesley's little sister, Virginia, is a theater kid now, as well), and Erin has had the pleasure of serving on the boards of both Circle Players and Tennessee Women's Theater Project. Erin is honored to have had the opportunity to work with the amazingly talented Whitney Vaughn, the outstanding Rabbit Hole cast, and the wonderful production staff. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Casey Edwards (stage manager) - Casey is an acting major at Lipscomb University and will graduating in spring 2014. Her performance credits include Lipscomb’s Hairspray (Brenda) and The Servant of Two Masters (Claricé). She was recently cast as Eponine in Lipsomcb’s upcoming production of Les Miserables. Casey is thrilled to have the opportunity to stage manage for such a talented team and thanks everyone for their hard work.

Jim Manning (set designer/builder) - Jim has worked on- and off-stage for many theaters around town and works full time as Tech Director and Technical Theater Teacher at The University School of Nashville (USN).  Onstage, some favorite roles include Harold in Moon Over Buffalo (Best Featured Actor), Will in Oklahoma! (Best Supporting Actor), and Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Best Actor).  His work as Set Designer has included Rainmaker (Chaffin's Barn), Titanic, the Musical (Circle Players), and Les Miserables (Hume Fogg Academic High School).  Jim has served as President and Vice President for Circle Players, worked as Set Designer for Stagedoor Manor in New York, and promotes theater through fund-raising parties and table reads at his home

Taylor Wood (assistant stage manager) - Taylor is thrilled to be part of Rabbit Hole. Other technical credits include The Curious Savage, The Woman in White, and Our Town. This is Taylor’s first show with Circle Players and Lipscomb Department of Theatre, and she could not have asked for a better cast and crew to work with. 

Stephen Moss (lighting design) - Stephen is happy to be working with Circle Players again! He is  a graduate of Lipscomb University with a B.A. in Theatrical Design. Selected theatrical lighting design credits include: My Fair Lady, Big River, A Christmas Carol, Smokey Joe’s Café, The Sound of Music, The Miracle Worker (Studio Tenn); Oleanna, Pacific Overtures, Magic (Blackbird Theater); Next to Normal (Circle Players). Stephen also served as Master Electrician for Macbeth (Nashville Shakespeare Festival). In addition to theatre, Stephen works as a lighting designer for concerts and other events at the Franklin Theatre. Here, he has had the privilege to work with artists such as Kix Brooks, Jeffrey Steele, Vince Gill, Wynonna, JD Souther, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, and Blue Sky Riders, among others.

Jennifer Kleine (costume designer) – Jennifer has costumed numerous shows for local and regional theater companies, including most recently Circle's production of The Color Purple and several Penguin Players shows for Dollywood. This summer she had the opportunity to dress Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, and about a dozen other country music stars -- all in puppet form -- for String City: Nashville's Tradition of Music and Puppetry, a joint production of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the Nashville Public Library. Jennifer has thoroughly enjoyed working with the amazingly talented Whitney Vaughn and an outstanding cast and crew.

Emily Hughes (props manager) - Emily is excited to be helping  with Rabbit Hole! She is currently a Sophomore at Lipscomb University where she studies theatre. Emily has been involved with theatre for several years and is eager to have her first experience at managing props. Emily's theatre credits include: Legally Blonde the Musical, Music Man, Singin in the Rain, Our Town, and many others. She would like to thank Whitney for this amazing opportunity!
