Fame, the Musical is a bittersweet but
ultimately inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they
commit to
four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humor,
and
insight the show explores the issues that confront many young people
today:
prejudice, identity, self-worth, literacy, sexuality, substance abuse,
and
perseverance. Fame
the Musical is significantly
rewritten from previous adaptations (the 1980 film Fame and the following television
series) with an almost entirely
new score. Director Tim Larson
brings together a talented and diverse cast and crew to create a
production
that will make you want to stand up and shout, “I want to
live forever!”

October
16 - November 1, 2009 |
Noises Off,
a play in three acts, is a hilarious comedy where you-- the audience--
view this production as a play within a play. It begins with
only
hours before the opening of a British adult farce, Nothing On, and the
touring company is hurriedly running through a final dress rehearsal in
the Grand Theatre, Weston-SuperMare, before the first audience members
arrive. The Nothing On cast is loveable, but mainly inept; however, we
cheer for them under our breath and hope they can pull it together and
get the show on the road. You then get to see Nothing On from both an
audience and a backstage perspective. Director Patrick Kramer
will bring to the Circle Stage a rousing comedy that will keep you in
stitches.

December 4 -19, 2009 |
Mame,
revolves around the antics of Mame Dennis, a fun-loving, wealthy
eccentric with a flair for life and a razor sharp wit. Her life is
suddenly changed when she becomes the guardian of her late brother's
only child, Patrick Dennis. Her adventures take us from the
speak-easies of the roaring 20's to the depression following the great
Stock Market crash. She is rescued by a wealthy southern plantation
owner, marries, is widowed suddenly, and through it all manages to keep
things under control. With such memorable numbers as Open a
New
Window, We Need a Little Christmas, and the title song Mame,
Director Macon Kimbrough will bring to the Circle a Stage a
production that will coax the blues right out of your heart!

March 26 - April 10, 2010 |
To Kill the Mockingbird is
a faithful reproduction of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.
The story is about dignity, tolerance, and the difficulties of growing
up in rural Alabama during the depression year of 1935. It is told
through the eyes of Scout, the tomboyish daughter of Atticus. She is
fascinated with all of the people in this small town and she is full of
questions to be asked of her widower father. Director Melissa Williams
will bring to the Circle Stage a well-knit production where the drama
will unfold seamlessly and the fragile tale will come to enchanting
life.
