THE CAST

Carol Griffin (Dotty) is a native of Tennessee, but apparently made a wrong turn and has circled Arkansas, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and even an island in the Caribbean for the last 30 years.  After finally gaining her bearings, she has once again returned to the homeland.  While out of sight and slightly out of mind, Carol made good use of her time in community theatre.  From Shakespeare to Moss Hart, Carol has enjoyed roles as Olivia in Twelfth Night and as Essie in You Can’t Take It With You.  From comedy to more comedy, she has enjoyed playing roles such as Florence Unger in The Female Version of The Odd Couple to M’Lynn/Ouiser in Steel Magnolias to Aunt Abby in Arsenic and Old Lace… to the obscure and slightly strange 3 woman show Eleemosynary.  Upon arriving in Hendersonville a little over a year ago, she appeared in Steeple Players production of Exit the Body.  Carol has so enjoyed the opportunity to work with Circle Players and with such a great cast in this presentation of Noises Off.  Carol’s family simply wants her to stop talking like a character out of My Fair Lady.  Enjoy the show!

Alan Lee (Lloyd) is excited about his first appearance with Circle Players, though he has been seen on the Looby Stage as CB Williams in The Tennessee Women’s Theatre Project’s 2007 production of Defying Gravity. As a member of Kentucky Rep’s 2008 Company  he played, among other roles, Salieri in Amadeus, Boo Radley in To Kill A Mockingbird, and Kent in King Lear. 2008 also saw the premiere of Alan’s one man show, Yours, Will Rogers. This year Alan has been seen in The Boiler Room Theatre productions of My Fair Lady (Doolittle), Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Sagot), and, most recently, Jesus Christ Superstar (Pilate). His voice can be heard as two characters in The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything: A Veggie Tales Movie and as two other characters in the upcoming Veggie Tales Christmas DVD, The Story of St. Nicholas. Alan is grateful to Patrick for giving him the opportunity to pretend direct such a fine company in such a funny play.

Aaron Echols (Garry) is excited to be making his Circle Players debut in Noises Off. Most of his Nashville theatre experience has been with Steeple Players in his hometown of Hendersonville. Some of his favorite roles have been Horton in Seussical, Aslan in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Jinx in Forever Plaid, and Perchick in Fiddler on the Roof. Aaron is an admitted geek who toils as a Mechanical Engineer by day, but theatre is his passion. He wishes to thank the cast and crew for all of the hard work in bringing this crazy show to life and giving him the opportunity to play this role. Many thanks also go to his wife, Loren, and his two boys for putting up with those many nights away from home. I love you!

Brittany Byrd (Brooke) is thrilled to be a part of her first Circle Players production. A Nashville native, her involvement in theatre dates back to the 7th grade when she was cast in Annie at her alma mater, Davidson Academy. There began her love affair with the theatre. Her past credits include Sabrina Fair, Steel Magnolias, A Comedy Of Errors, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and a number of others. Brittany has performed with the Tennessee Performing Arts Centers' StageWorks theatre camp under the direction of Jennifer Orth. Her film credits include Joe, Dean and Charlene and Quest For Humanity, an independent film that screened at The Belcourt in the summer of 2009. She would like to thank her friends and family for their continued love, support and patience over the years, her inspiring Noises Off castmates and crew, and director Patrick Kramer for giving her the opportunity to perform in one of her favorite shows ever. Ever? Yes, ever.

Maggie Pitt (Poppy) is excited to be working with such a fun cast and crew, and to be utilizing both her onstage and backstage experiences for this production.  You may have seen her in such shows as Once Upon a Mattress and Oliver! (Circle), Evita (Street Theatre), The Producers (Nashville Dinner Theatre), or Around the World in 80 Days (Community Players).   You probably didn’t see her in shows like TWTP’s Almost, Maine, Street Theatre’s The Full Monty or Circle’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer because she was hiding in the wings or moving set pieces in the dark.  She thanks her friends and family for all of their support.

Joe Shepherd (Frederick) has come full circle with his first role in a Circle Players production. As a fifth grader, his first stage experience was with the Story Book Theater Group at a library in his hometown of Lexington, Kentucky. Soon, Joe was a full-fledged theater geek, eventually earning the right to chew the scenery in roles such as Henry Drummond in Inherit the Wind, King Sextimus in Once Upon a Mattress, and Jigger Craigin in Carousel. Receiving the Visual and Performing Arts Award in junior high and being voted “Most Talented” by his high school senior classmates completed the alarming swelling of his head to male diva (devo?) status. Dropping out of college briefly, failing at being a rock star, and selling stereos at Circuit City soon returned his ego to tolerable levels. Between there and his Looby Theater debut, Joe followed a crooked path of voice acting, writing, and broadcasting. These three interests converged when he was senior producer of a nationally broadcast weekly kids’ radio show called Kinetic City Super Crew. He won a coveted Peabody Award for his work, and his head has shown concerning signs of swelling again. Please, for Joe’s health and the health of those who have to live with him, don’t applaud too vigorously for him at the curtain call.

Kellye Mitchell (Belinda), a native of this area, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Milligan College.  By day, she works as an Executive Assistant to the CEO and several executives at a local healthcare IT company.  However, her real passion is theatre.  Her last show was Play On! with Community Players in which a group of actors are putting on a show that goes horribly wrong (Sound familiar?). Some of her favorite roles include:  Martha Culver in The Constant Wife with Act 1, Joanne in Vanities with Murfreesboro Little Theatre, Gayle in Sunday on the Rocks with Groundworks Theatre, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing with Circle Players, Miss Willie in The Curious Savage at The Palace Theatre in Gallatin, Willa Mae Wilcox in A Bad Year for Tomatoes with Main Street Playhouse in Goodlettsville, Kristen Fox in Rhubarb Theatre's production of Birds in Church, Sister Rachel in As it is in Heaven with Big Bawl Baby Productions, and Little Nell in Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge with Towne Centre Theatre.   This is a great cast, amazing crew, and a difficult show.  Hopefully, doors will close when they’re to close and open when they’re to open.  Sardines!

Jeremy Maxwell (Tim) is excited to be performing in Nashville! He holds a bachelor's degree in performance theatre from Austin Peay State University. Favorite past performances include Streetsinger in Little Threepenny Opera, Ernst Ludwig in Cabaret, and Mr. Franklin in Children of a Lesser God. Regional credits include: Julius Caesar- Octavius, Seussical!- Wickersham, Macbeth- Donalbain, All Quiet on the Western Front- Tjaden - Roxy Regional Theatre, Wizard of Oz- Ensemble, A Funny Thing Happened...- Protean, and, most recently, Tom Sawyer- Injun Joe - Ocean City Theatre Co. He is ecstatic to finally be a part of Noises Off! He can now cross this off the lifetime to-do list. Thanks go to all his family and friends who support him.

Joe Brennan (Selsdon) has had a wonderful experience in his first production adventure with the Circle Players. After a 30 year acting hiatus, Joe returned to the stage when he and his family moved to the Nashville area in 2006. Working with the Steeple Players and with Towne Centre Theatre, Joe has performed in a number shows since he came back, including Love Sex and The IRS, Barefoot in the Park, Exit the Body, Lend Me a Tenor, and Rehearsal for Murder, to name a few. Joe would like to thank the Circle Players for the opportunity and hopes that you, the audience, enjoys the show and has as much fun watching as we have performing.  Thanks to Patrick, Matt, and Beth!! Miles of Smiles!!!!
